On the Road, Recreational Vehicles | August 18, 2022

Whether you’re a first-time RVer or you’ve been hitting the open road for years, it’s important to have a regular maintenance routine for your RV. By following a few simple tips, you can keep your RV in good condition and prolong its life. Here are five ways to improve your RV’s maintenance routine.

  1. Always check the oil level and tire pressure before taking your RV on a trip
  2. Clean the exterior of your RV with a hose to remove dirt and dust
  3. Inspect the roof of your RV for any damage or leaks
  4. Vacuum the interior of your RV to get rid of any pet hair or dirt
  5. Check all fluid levels and replace as necessary

Always Check the Oil Level and Tire Pressure

Before taking your RV on a trip, always make sure that you check the oil level and tire pressure. This will ensure maximum traction for safe driving in all conditions, plus it’ll reduce wear from rough roads or other elements while traveling.

Clean the Exterior

If you want to maintain the exterior of your RV, clean it with a hose. If there are dirty grime on any surfaces or especially around windows then take time and use a pressure washer for a deeper wash.

Inspect The Roof of Your RV

When traveling in your RV, keeping an eye on the roof is essential. Take a small inspection every now and then, and check for cracks or leaks. These should not go unnoticed because they could result in water getting inside the vehicle. This may lead to more severe problems down the line, such as mold growth and rot that may cause structural damage.

Vacuum the Interior

If you want a clean RV, the interior is important! Vacuum all of that dirt and hair from your carpeting or rug before someone walks over them.

Check All the Fluid Levels and Replace when Necessary

This is probably the most important one. Make sure you top all of your fluids to ensure everything runs smoothly. If there’s something that needs replaced, do NOT wait until you finish your trip. Take care of the situation as soon as it arises and you will have peace of mind that your RV will be working how it should.
